Restorative Services

Your smile today may not be as brilliant as it once was. Years of wear and tear, injury, or poor care can hurt the look and function of your teeth. Drs. Lee and Barton and their team change lives every day through restorative dentistry. Rejuvenate your smile today!

Implant Restoration

A dental implant is one of the most permanent forms of restorative dentistry and can be used to restore a single tooth or several teeth. Dental implants involve the placement of a surgical grade titanium post into the boneof your jaw by one of the doctor’s trusted specialists. As the bone bonds to the post, it forms a secure foundation for the attachment of a crown or a prosthetic tooth that is custom created for you. Implants are sometimes used instead of bridges to maintain the integrity of the teeth on either side of the gap.

Implant-supported Dentures

While typical dentures shift and require the use of denture adhesives to keep them in place, implants fit solidly, reducing the problems associated with traditional dentures such as gum sores, difficulty speaking and difficulty chewing. Implant supported dentures distribute your biting pressure more like natural teeth than traditional dentures, stimulating the supportive structures of your teeth and preventing the bone and soft tissues from shrinking away. You can replace an entire set of teeth with beautiful, natural-looking implants.

Dentures

It is important to address missing teeth for several reasons. Your ability to speak correctly and to chew the foods you love goes a long way in ensuring your self-confidence.  Keeping your natural tooth function helps prevent the breakdown of the bone and other supportive structures of your jaw.

A natural smile and a perfect fit - are two of our primary denture goals. A proper fitting set of dentures is very important, as a good fit ensures that your dentures will allow you to retain much of your function. Your custom-fit dentures from Lee & Barton DDS will keep you looking and feeling healthy, and will help you retain a natural lifestyle.

Partial Dentures

A partial denture will provide you with a natural-looking way to restore your smile to its original brilliance. You will be pleased with how your new partial denture restores the gaps in your smile due to your missing teeth that cannot be corrected by a bridge. Your partial denture will be removable and made from a synthetic material supported by lightweight metal that mimics your gum tissue and teeth to give you a beautiful new smile. The partial denture will preserve your bone structure and the integrity of your existing teeth by preventing them from shifting and tilting in towards the gaps created by your missing teeth.

Crowns

Your teeth undergo a tremendous amount of wear and tear during your lifetime. Teeth may show this wear in a variety of ways, including discoloration, chipping and cracking. Crowns restore your teeth and your smile to look brilliant once again. Porcelain crowns can be made out of porcelain pressed to metal or are porcelain throughout and can be shaded to match your other teeth. Crowns made of precious metal are also an option. After some tooth preparation, crowns are specially fitted to give you back the look and functionality of your smile. If you have pain when chewing or temperature sensitivity, ask Dr. Lee or Dr. Barton if crowns are for you.

Bridges

When teeth are missing, your smile undergoes significant changes. Missing teeth cause you to chew differently, may cause mouth pain, and as your remaining teeth work to compensate for the loss, gaps and spaces form that only make the situation worse. A porcelain bridge, custom designed by your doctor at Lee & Barton DDS, keeps your smile aligned and your bite functional. Bridges are anchored to existing teeth or crowns on either side of the missing tooth. They are semi-permanent, meaning they can only be affixed or removed by a dentist and are a long-term restorative solution to your damaged smile.

Inlays/Onlays

Sometimes removing tooth decay effectively requires the removal of a portion of your tooth. The removed portion is replaced with a porcelain inlay or onlay. Drs. Lee and Barton customize an inlay or onlay to fill the space left behind when the part of your tooth is removed. Traditionally, inlays and onlays were made out of metal, much like traditional filings. Now, porcelain-milled inlays and onlays are virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth and provide relief from chewing pain, cavity pain and tooth degeneration.

TMJ

If you experience headaches, migraines, muscle aches in the back and neck, worn teeth, or jaw pain; you may suffer from Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction – TMJ. While you sleep, your jaw struggles to relax, causing you to grind your teeth or clench your jaw for an extended period of time.  Left untreated, TMJ can cause irreversible damage to your teeth and supportive structures of the mouth, trauma to the jaw joints, and significant trouble eating and speaking.

There are many treatment options available for those with TMJ, including a customized bite appliance that is worn at night, allowing the jaw to relax and the wearer to experience comfortable sleep. If you think you may suffer from TMJ, schedule an evaluation with our team today.  After a thorough evaluation of the joint tissue in the jaw, your dentist will suggest a treatment plan.
